All about me...
The very first thing y'all should know is that I am insane. I get told this on a regular basis. But now we've gotten that out of the way....
I hail from middle of nowhere, UK. I grew up and went to University to do an American Studies degree (the main reasons: 1) It got me a year in America; 2) I knew at the time I couldn't do just history or just English - I would have gotten bery bored very quickly; and 3) it was a four year course, not three!
Now I have graduated, although I don't regret doing the course and would do it all over again in a heartbeat, I have yet to find out what job you can do with it!
Job wise, I am currently stuck in a temping trap. I used to be a manager at William Hill Bookmakers, and hated it. So I quit - just as the delightful ressession hit. And despite some stressful times with little sleep, I don't regret that either - best advice I could give someone... don't work for William Hill because it will eat away at your soul bit by bit!
I am also a DJ. It's taken a few years to finally feel comfortable calling myself that - I felt like all I did was hit play. Now I know there's more to it, and I love it. Truely. I am a resident DJ for the busiest student night in Hull, playing current chart hits with student anthems. In otherwords, I can get away with playing anything. Seriously. No - seriously! (Although we have to ignore the country music genre as it doesn't really exist in the UK, sadly).
Music wise I will listen to anything - it just depends on the mood. Britney will always have a firm place in my heart, but I love Lady Gaga, Paramore, Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, Enrique, Pitbull, Lil Wayne, the Saturdays, Christina Aguilera, Howie Day, the Benjy Davis Project, Better Than Ezra, The Lonely Island, Eminem... Actually, it's probably easier to list the songs I don't like. (And this is only because they are sooooo overplayed): Sex on Fire, Don't Stop Believing and Lolipop. Oh, hang on... I don't like Nirvana and I don't like Kylie Minogue!
I love to read, but I never get time. Most of the time it's the supernatural genre, mainly the Vampire Stories (yes, I like the Twilight books). My favourites are the House of Night series - love em! - followed closely by Dark Desires series by Kresley Cole. I love Jackie Collins, Dan Brown, and Virginia Andrews.
I also watch too much TV - no soaps though - but I'm not going to list them here because it would be a very big list!
